JUST 8 MORE WHEELCHAIR SPONSORS TO FIND!

It's 6:29 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23rd. I just got off the air about 30 minutes ago.

I'm filled with a grateful heart for the KSLR listeners who generously sponsored 67 wheelchairs toward our 75 wheelchair goal through Joni Eareckson Tada's Wheels for the World ministry.

About Joni
Joni (pronounced JOHN-ee) is a remarkable woman indeed!

A diving accident in 1967 left Joni a quadriplegic in a wheelchair, unable to use her hands. After two years of rehabilitation, she re-entered the community with new skills and a fresh determination to help others in similar situations. "My church made a huge difference in my family's life as they demonstrated the love of God in practical ways," says Joni.

Now, through Wheels for the World, Joni has given the gift of mobility - a wheelchair -- to 52,342 disabled people in 102 developing countries. Physical therapists, who pay their own way, help to personally custom-fit each wheelchair.

Plus, each person receives a Bible in their own language, many professing faith in Christ for the first time as they have experienced the love of God in such a powerful and tangible way.

So, we are just 8 wheelchairs short of our 75 wheelchair goal for those in Peru and Guatemala. Each wheelchair costs $150.

Wheels for the WorldThink about how you would feel if you lived in a developing country and were disabled. Perhaps dragging yourself through the dirt with flip-flops on your hands or being carried around in a sheet by family. Or maybe you're never able to even leave your own bed due to your disability.

Would you consider helping me reach the finish line and become one of 8 KSLR listeners to sponsor a wheelchair right now with a one-time gift of $150?

The Joni and Friends operators are standing by 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

So you can call 1.888.294.5664 at the very moment you read this e-mail - no matter what time it may be and make your pledge of $150 for 1 wheelchair or $300 for 2 wheelchairs. It's tax-deductible.

Plus, you can give with absolute confidence because Joni and Friends is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability which insists upon an annual independent strict audit. That's the Christian Housekeeping Seal of Approval in my book.

I would love to return to the microphone on Thursday, July 24th at 3 p.m. and announce that, thanks to your sacrificial gift, we were able to send all 75 wheelchairs that Joni asked for.

Can you help?

Call 1.888.294.5664 right now as operators are standing by 24 hours a day.

Thanks!
